RC47 Working Group on Palestine

 
In early January 2024, a number of RC 47 members felt the need to create a working group that focuses on Palestine and solidarity with Palestinian people. We were all witness to killing of innocent Palestinian children, women and men and displacement of the majority of Gaza’s population as well as the destruction of much of Gaza’s infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and universities. Many of our colleagues working at various universities were being killed. We felt that remaining silent would be an abdication of our ethical responsibility as sociologists. Five months have passed and the situation has only gotten worse. Hence, the group and the work it does remains as relevant. We would be delighted to have more RC47 members involved.
